As we’ve had a rubbish summer I thought I’d attempt to cheer you up with a Super Free mix I just finished.

Super Deejay Bobzilla It all started with an obsession with low end bass, the type that makes you go Whoa!, with a pool of influences from Detroit's Magic Mike to Plump DJs and Freestylers, Early Electro and B-boy culture right through to the Switch/Jesse Rose's Wonky house explosion. Bobzilla's DJ adventures started in 1994 with the opportunity to play a bunch of 12"s at a party for some now defunct guitar band, which went down a treat I hasten to add!, One residency led to another which allowed him the most excellent opportunity of playing alongside scene leaders like Jon Carter, Jacques Lu Cont, Freestylers, Freq Nasty, Erol Alkan, Annie Mac, Scratch Perverts and Adam Freeland. Based in the industrial mega-tropolis that is Middlesbrough, Bobzilla has ran the Tubbyphunk website (www.tubbyphunk.com [http://www.tubbyphunk.com]) for 6 years which has allowed him to reach audiences on an international level, while getting mixes to all kinds of hard to reach locations. His residencies have included stints at the Middlesbrough Arena, Newcastle University, Leeds Courtyard and headline sets at Newcastle's 'Feaky Dancing' as well as self initiated clubbing manoeuvres such as Enta the Dragon, We Are Special and his current club night 'Kung Phu' a mix of forward thinking breaks and drum & bass, on a monthly basis at Middlesbrough Cornerhouse. Super Deejay Bobzilla's sound is best described a 'jump-up breaks' a dangerously infectious chopped-up mix of party bangers and b-boy influenced electronic funk (call it breaks if you like). A well developed sound with a healthy mixture of low end bass and finely tuned breaks. As a DJ he is constantly focused in the search for the next piece of dance floor slaying funk, which comes across rather nicely in the mix.
